The news of Baxter’s appointment took many students and parents from PHS by surprise. It isn’t clear if the Princeton Board of Education or school officials knew about the appointment prior to the announcement.
When contacted, Barry Galasso, interim superintendent of Princeton Public Schools (PPS) said the district “does not comment of personnel.”

“Principal Baxter has a distinguished career at Princeton. She will be missed by students, faculty and the community. We wish her success. She has done an outstanding job,” Galasso said.
Galasso told Patch that PPS will be making an announcement on an interim principal during the December Board of Education meeting.
Baxter began her career in East Hanover as a Spanish and ESL teacher. She then became the Assistant Principal at Princeton High School in February 2012, before being promoted to Principal in July 2019.

“The work she has led as an administrator in the areas of academic excellence, SEL, and diversity, equity, and inclusion will complement and enhance the work we have been committed to for the students and staff of Randolph,” she said.
