Princeton Man Charged With Attempted Murder in Somerset County
Avery Gorman was the alleged driver in a shooting incident Saturday night in Franklin Township.
A Princeton man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Franklin Township, Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano and Franklin Township Chief of Police Lawrence Roberts said on Monday.
Avery C. Gorman, 21, was arrested without incident following a traffic stop on Sunday night. Gorman is the alleged driver of a dark blue Honda Accord with tinted windows that was involved in an alleged shooting Saturday night around 7:09 p.m.
The car allegedly pulled up next to a man who said he was sitting on his car on his Ambrose Street. The passenger who was sitting in the front right seat allegedly pointed a black handgun out the window and fired at the man. However, the shots missed the intended victim and shattered the glass of the car the victim was sitting on.

The alleged shooter, identified as 21-year-old Franklin Township resident Devin Alexander, remains at large. Crime Stoppers of Somerset County is offering a reward of up to $1,500 for information leading to the whereabouts and arrest of Alexander.
Gorman was lodged in the Somerset County Jail on $500,000 cash only bail.

Detectives are urging Alexander to surrender to law enforcement authorities and are cautioning any individual that may come into contact with him to notify police immediately.
Anyone who comes across Alexander is advised not try to apprehend him as he may be armed.
