Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert Announces Re-Election Bid: Report
Lempert was first elected mayor of a consolidated Princeton in 2012.

Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert became the first candidate to announce her intention to run in the 2016 race on Friday, nj.com reports.
Lempert said she will begin campaigning early next year, and she is working on putting her campaign team together, according to the report.
Lempert was elected in 2012, and took office in 2013.

Lempert was a member of Princeton Township Committee for four years, including one year as Deputy Mayor, prior to the consolidation. In 2008, she volunteered for Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and quickly rose to co-chair the 3,500-member grassroots group, Mercer for Obama.
