Princeton Officials: No Parking Meters as Part of Mount Lucas Road Project

Princeton officials provide their update on the project's progress.

No parking meters will be installed as part of the Mount Lucas Road Improvement Project, Princeton officials advised residents as part of their weekly update on the project this week.

“We understand that some neighbors may have been under the impression that parking meters are intended to be installed as part of this project,” officials said. “Please be advised that the Municipality has no plans to install parking meters on Mount Lucas Road.”

On Monday June 15, weather permitting, the contractor will be reconstructing a sanitary sewer manhole just north of Redding Circle as part of the project.

Work is expected to take about one day.

One lane will be closed on Mount Lucas Road north of Redding Circle between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. during work.

Top Line Construction Corp., will top soil and seed the disturbed grass areas along both sides of the road between Jefferson Road and Ewing Street all next week.

In addition, the remaining concrete sidewalk and driveway aprons will be installed along the southbound side of Mount Lucas Road.

Mount Lucas Road will be closed to through traffic from Jefferson Road to Ewing Street from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. during work.

When concrete sidewalk and the concrete driveway apron are installed across a resident’s driveway, access to that driveway will be prohibited for 72 hours. Residents are advised to park on the street, away from where the work is occurring, or work with a neighbor across the street to share their driveway. Residents will be notified when access to their driveway is restored.

Top Line Construction is tentatively scheduled to install curb on both sides of Mount Lucas Road, starting at Jefferson Road and continuing south to Laurel Road beginning Wednesday, June 17.

When curbing is installed to a resident’s driveway, access to that driveway will be prohibited for the next 48 hours.

Residents are advised to park on the street, away from where the work is occurring, or work with a neighbor across the street to share their driveway. They should not park at the designated parking lot spaces in the Redding Circle neighborhood.

Residents will be notified when access to their driveway is restored.

CRJ Construction will return to perform minor work on the water main just north of the Cherry Hill Road intersection from Wednesday, June 17-Friday, June 19, weather and workload permitting.

Following completion of this work and the testing of the new water main, CRJ Construction plans to begin the replacement of house services within the public right-of-way between Jefferson Road and Ewing Street.

Mount Lucas Road will be closed between Cherry Hill Road and Laurel Road from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. during work.

Mount Lucas Road will reopen at the end of each work day. Residents are advised to use caution when driving within the road closure area and allow additional time for travel. Provisions will be made for emergency services vehicles and for continued services such as brush collection, mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up.
