Princeton Opens Cooling Centers Across City Until July 24

Those in need of some relief from this heat can head to Princeton Public Library or select city-owned buildings during the day this week.

PRINCETON, NJ — It's hot, and there are places around the city of Princeton to escape into the air conditioning for a few hours until Sunday.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Mercer county and surrounding areas on Wednesday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and an Excessive Heat Watch on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Temperatures on Wednesday hit 97 degrees with a heat index of about 107 degrees shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday could also bring a heat index of 105-110 degrees.
