Princeton Police Collecting Valentine's Day Cards For Troops

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Police Department are collecting Valentine's Day cards to help brighten the day for those serving overseas.

"Many of them have been away long enough to miss this past holiday season with their loved ones. They make this sacrifice in order to protect us and our freedom, as well as many others who need protection around the world," Princeton Police Department said.

The collection is being done in response to New York's Country 94.7 radio station "Valentine's for the Troops" project where they will be sending out the cards to the troops.

To help Princeton Police Patrolman Chris Donnelly will be collecting all of the cards to bring over to the radio station before their deadline.

Princeton Police will collect Valentine's Day cards through Jan. 28 at noon. Cards can be donated at the station at 1 Valley Road.

Valentine's Day cards rules:

• Keep the letters uplifting and happy
• Encourage the troops
• No photos
• No glitter
• No loose items accepted
• No foreign objects
• No foul language
