Princeton School District Adopts Budget Proposal With Decreased Tax Hike
The public hearing and final vote on the budget is April 25, according to the Princeton Packet.

PRINCETON, NJ — It appears as though an increase in taxes related to the Princeton Public School District’s budget won’t be as steep as previously anticipated.
Under the $95.6 million budget adopted by the Princeton Public School District Board of Education last week, the average homeowner would pay an additional $223.95 annually, the Princeton Packet reports.
It was previously reported that the increase could be $363.89, but the district cut proposed spending by nearly $150,000 and eliminated nearly $250,000 in new staff requests, according to the report.

The budget will now be reviewed by the State Department of Education. The public hearing and final vote on the budget is set for April 25.
Much of the school district’s budget planning has centered around an additional $826,266 it must pay to the Princeton Charter School as part of the expansion that was recently approved by the state.
