Princeton School District Ranked Best In NJ: 2019-20
The district was also ranked 17th best in the nation, according to Niche's 2020 K-12 rankings.
PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton School District is the top-ranked school district in New Jersey for the 2019-2020 school year, according to Niche's 2020 K-12 rankings. The district was also ranked 17th best in the nation.
Each New Jersey district received a letter grade in the following categories: Academics; Diversity; Teachers; College Prep; Clubs & Activities; Health & Safety; Administration; Sports; Food; and Resources & Facilities.
Niche gave Princeton an A or an A+ in all categories except for diversity (B+), sports and food (B). Last year, Millburn was number 1.

Here is a breakdown on Princeton's scores:

To arrive at the rankings, Niche looked at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data, and ratings collected from Niche users. (You can read more about the methodology here.)

Princeton has 3,642 students in grades PK, K-12 and has a student-teacher ratio of 11 to 1. A total of 64 percent of students are at least proficient in math and 77 percent in reading, according to state test scores reported by Niche.
"The Princeton Public School district is definitely one of academic rigor. A student of any level in any class can find themselves being challenged mentally, sometimes too much so," said a Princeton High School senior.
"I am a product of the Princeton Public Schools K-12 program, and I owe it to this school system for teaching me how to truly learn and apply it to my life," said an alum of the district.
"[Princeton High School] has been wonderful for my son, we have enjoyed the sense of community and the excellence of academics and focus the school brings to our child," said a Princeton parent.
