Princeton Schools Closed On Thursday

BREAKING: Princeton Public Schools will be closed as the town recovers from a devastating storm that dropped 17 inches of snow on the town.

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton Public School District will be closed on Thursday as the town digs out from a devastating storm that struck the state on Wednesday. This closure includes both schools and offices. It includes events during the day as well as any events scheduled in our buildings during the evening.

Classes at Princeton University were cancelled Wednesday night, but were tentatively scheduled to resume on Thursday.

Rider University campuses in both Lawrenceville and Princeton will have a delayed opening. They will open at 9:30 a.m. Classes beginning at 8 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. will not be held. Classes that begin at 9:45 a.m. or later will be held as scheduled.

Princeton was buried under 17.8 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service, and there were collapsed trees and power lines on practically every road in the municipality. As of 9 p.m. Wednesday, there were 12,525 people in Mercer County without power. To track power outages, visit the PSE&G Outage Map.
