Princeton Soccer Association U15 Girls and U18 Girls State Champions

Princeton Soccer Association U15 and U18 Girls win USYS National Championship Series NJ State Cup Championship and NJ Cup State Championship

Princeton, NJ -- It was a fantastic week of soccer success for the Princeton Soccer Association (PSA)! While having great success all season with players developing well and playing great soccer, the past week has shown some notable success.

State Cup Championships

Sunday May 8th began the surge of championships for the PSA girls program. PSA U15 Girls and U18 Girls both won the US Club Soccer NJ Cup State Championships. An amazing accomplishment against a number of top teams in the state. The U15 Girls beat South Jersey Elite Barrons '00 Girls (SJEB) 2-1 while the U18 Girls beat TSF Academy 3-1 to be crowned champions!

Sunday May 15th, both the U15 Girls and U18 Girls, once again showed the consistency of their ability when they both won the USYS National Championship Series State Cup Championships! Without conceding any goals at all, the U15 Girls Beat NJ Wildcats 3-0 and the U18 Girls beat NJ Stallions 2-0. Winning a state championship is an amazing achievement for the girls and the club, showing an accumulation of all their hard work and dedication over the season. To win two state championships each in just 7 days is a remarkable accomplishment!

Both teams now move onto the USYS Region 1 Championships in Barboursville, West Virginia from June 30th - July 5th, and the US Club Soccer National Cup Finals in Aurora, Colorado from July 22nd - 25th.

NPL League Championships

In addition to significant state cup success, this past week also saw the U15 Girls crowned champions of the NYCSL NPL League! With 9 wins and 2 draws over the 11 game season, they scored 39 goals and only conceded 6 goals. This also qualifies the girls to attend the NPL (National Premier League) National Finals which features the champions of all 19 NPL's across the United States in the U-13 through U-18 boys and girls age groups. Teams play group games before advancing to knock-out rounds to determine the NPL national champion in every age group. This is held in Aurora, Colorado from July 14th - 18th.

The 2002 (U14) Boys team also finished as winners of their NPL League this past week too! Over the 17 game season through the fall and spring, the boys won 14 games and lost 3, scoring 64 goals and conceding 23. The boys now play in the league play-offs on the weekend of June 4th and 5th, which will determine who will attend the NPL National Finals on behalf of the league!
