Princeton Teachers Are Highest Paid In Mercer County

PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton teachers are the highest paid in Mercer County, according to information released by the state for the 2019-20 school year.

Princeton Public Schools pays teachers a median salary of $82,589 which is the highest median amount paid in Mercer County and 40th highest in the state.

The median salary is 1.23 percent more that last year.

Princeton teachers also make more than the state median of $68,985, a 1.6 percent increase over last year. Overall, 232 school districts pay more than the state median.

The released information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending that was just released, showing the median salary in every New Jersey school district and charter school.

Here is the list of Mercer County school districts and charter schools, and their 2019 median teacher salaries, from highest to lowest (with the state ranking). The percentage shows the change from the previous year:
