Princeton Uni. Reunions Go Virtual, '20 Commencement Canceled
The formerly rescheduled in-person commencement ceremony now stands canceled. No decision has been made regarding commencement 2021.
PRINCETON, NJ – Princeton University on Monday announced it was canceling the formerly rescheduled Class of 2020 Commencement ceremony.
Reunions for 2021 will take place virtually, the university said.
“In view of ongoing concerns related to the pandemic, Princeton Reunions and the postponed Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020 will not take place on campus this spring,” the university announced via Twitter.

“The University has determined that inviting alumni back to campus from around the world is not prudent or possible.”
The virtual reunion will happen in May.

The university said it was working with the Class of 2020 to find "ways to honor their achievements.”
No decision has been made regarding the commencement activities of Class of 2021.
Last May, the Class of 2020 celebrated their Commencement virtually, with the in-person element being postponed to 2021.
But with coronavirus number still increasing across the country, the university decided to cancel the ceremony.
