Princeton University Expansion Plans Include Springdale Golf Course, Land In West Windsor

The university is meeting with planning boards in Princeton and West Windsor about their plans.

Princeton, NJ -- Princeton University is putting more of an emphasis on developing land the school owns around the main campus and in surrounding towns in its 2026 campus plan, Planet Princeton reports.

This includes the development of the Springdale Golf Course and land in West Windsor, according to the report.

Springdale Creek could be restored and developed to feel like a park, the head consultant for the university’s campus plan told a planning board sub-committee Monday night. It could be used for academic purposes, with some housing mixed in.

The land in West Windsor could be used for housing and a remote parking lot, according to the report. The university no longer plans to build a parking garage on its eastern portion in downtown Princeton.

The university will also make a presentation to the West Windsor planning board on Wednesday, Oct. 5, according to the Princeton Packet. At that meeting, the town and the public would have a chance to give their thoughts on the project.
