Princeton University Football Team Is Ivy League Co-Favorite

The Tigers and Harvard tied in the preseason Ivy League media poll.

PRINCETON, NJ — The Princeton University football team has been tabbed a co-favorite with Harvard to win the Ivy League championship in 2017. It is just the third time in conference history the preseason media poll resulted in a tie, according to the conference.

Each team earned 120 points, followed by third-place Penn, with 110 points. Princeton earned six first-place votes, while Harvard and Penn each earned five. To view the full poll, visit ivyleague.com.

It appears as though reigning Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year John Lovett will miss the beginning of the season, the Princeton Packet reports. However, the backup is Chad Kanoff, a senior who was second-team all-conference. The Tigers must replace six all-conference players on defense from a year ago.
