Princeton University Football Team Opens Ivy League Play Against Columbia Friday Night

The home game begins at 7 p.m., and will be broadcast live on national television.

The Princeton University football team has scored nearly 100 points in its 2-0 start, but now this is the week things get real. The Tigers open Ivy League play Friday night at home against Columbia.

Last year’s game: Princeton won, 38-6.

Matchup: Princeton can strike through the air or on the ground. Chad Kanoff has three touchdown passes, and 451 yards passing through two games, according to goprincetontigers.com. Joe Rhattigan has three rushing touchdowns, and three running backs have rushed for over 100 yards this year, led by DiAndre Atwater with 186. Four different receivers have caught touchdown passes. Kicker Nolan Beck is 3-for-3 on field goals, and 11-for-11 on PATs.

Columbia has not scored through the air this season, but has allowed seven passing touchdowns, according to gocolumbialions.com. Cameron Molina is the team’s leading rusher with 99 yards and two touchdowns. Skyler Mornhinweg has 55 yards and two touchdowns. Kicker Cameron Nizialek is 4-for-5 on field goals.

Around the conference: Yale is 1-0 in conference play, having beaten Cornell, 35-26, last week. No other teams have played a conference game yet. Dartmouth visits Penn on Saturday, 3:30 p.m., in the only other conference game scheduled this week.
