Princeton University Football Team Plays for Second Place in Season Finale

The Tigers host Dartmouth Saturday afternoon, 1 p.m.

The stakes aren’t as high for the Princeton University football team heading into its season finale against Dartmouth on Saturday, but the Tigers will be looking for a measure of revenge.

Last year, Princeton went into its final game undefeated in conference play before losing to Dartmouth, 28-24. Princeton ended up sharing the Ivy League title with Harvard.

This year, Princeton (5-4, 4-2) is looking to force a second place tie with Dartmouth (7-2, 5-1) and Yale (8-1, 5-1) when the Tigers host the Big Green 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Princeton is also looking to erase the memory of last year’s defeat.

In fact, Princeton is looking for its first win over Dartmouth since 2009.

Dartmouth still has a shot at sharing the Ivy League title.

Undefeated Harvard (9-0, 6-0) hosts Yale on Saturday, 12:30 p.m.

If Harvard wins, it would capture the title outright. Wins by Yale and Dartmouth would result in a three-way tie for the title.

A Princeton win over Dartmouth and a Harvard win over Yale would result in a three-way tie for second place.

Princeton can fall no further than fourth in the conference standings.

Princeton is coming off a loss last week to Yale. Dartmouth has won two in a row, defeating Cornell and Brown each of the last two weeks.
