Princeton University Football Team Visits Brown: What You Need to Know

The undefeated Tigers enter the meat of their Ivy League season.

The Princeton University football team is still undefeated as it enters the meat of its conference schedule this weekend.

The Tigers visit Brown on Saturday. Here’s everything you need to know:

On Campus Parking

On campus parking is located in Lot 2 (limited) located off Hope Street; Lots 1, 89 and 90 located off Lloyd Avenue; and Lot 11, located off Brook Street. The campus lots are accessible to spectators Monday-Friday after 5:00 p.m., weekends and holidays. Parking in any of these lots is free of charge.

Street Parking

Spectators can park on surrounding streets such as Hope Street, Arlington Avenue, Lloyd Avenue, Bowen Street and Brook Street. Please be mindful of all posted parking restrictions and regulations that apply to surrounding streets.

From the North: Take 95 South to Branch Avenue (Exit 24). Turn left onto Branch Avenue and proceed to the traffic light. Cross the intersection and go up Cypress Street to the light at Hope Street. Turn right onto Hope Street. Bear left at the fork and make a left turn onto Lloyd Avenue. The entrance to the Athletic Complex is the third driveway on the right.



From the South: Take 95 North into Rhode Island. Once in Providence, take Branch Avenue (Exit 24). Turn right onto Branch Avenue and proceed to the traffic light. Cross the intersection and go up Cypress Street to the light at Hope Street. Turn right onto Hope Street. Bear left at the fork and make a left turn onto Lloyd Avenue. The entrance to the Athletic Complex is the third driveway on the right.



From the East: Take Route 195 West to the Gano Street exit (Exit 2) in Providence. Turn right onto Gano Street. Proceed to the light at Angell Street (at this point, Gano Street will become Taber Avenue). Turn left onto Angell Street (one-way). Follow Angell Street to Hope Street and turn right onto Hope Street. The Athletic Complex driveway is on the right after Stimson Street (for parking, proceed to the light immediately following driveway at Lloyd Avenue. Turn right onto Lloyd Avenue. The entrance to the Athletic Complex is the third driveway on the right).



From the West: Take Route 6 into Providence and exit for 95 North. Take 95 to Branch Avenue (Exit 24). Turn right onto Branch Avenue and proceed to the traffic light. Cross the intersection and go up Cypress Street to the light at Hope Street. Turn right onto Hope Street. Bear left at the fork and make a left turn onto Lloyd Avenue. The entrance to the Athletic Complex is the third driveway on the right.

Lot A Parking

Parking at Brown Stadium is very limited. Single game parking passes are avilable for purchase online. If there is single game parking available on gameday, it is first come, first serve at the entrance to Lot A.

*Please note - Parking passes for Lot A for the Brown vs. Yale football game on Saturday, November 8 are sold out!

Handicapped Parking at Brown Stadium

Handicapped parking is available in Lot C, located behinf the home side bleachers. Entry into Lot C can be accessed from Sessions Street. Handicapped parking in Lot C is a paid lot.

Street Parking

Spectators can park on surrounding streets that are not closed to traffic. Please be mindful of all posted parking restrictions and regulations that apply to surrounding streets.

From the North: Take 95 South to Branch Avenue (Exit 24). Turn left onto Branch Avenue and proceed to the traffic light. Cross intersection and go up Cypress Street to light at Hope Street. Go straight through intersection at Cypress and Hope to the end of Cypress, where it meets Morris Avenue. Turn right onto Morris Avenue. At the stop sign, take a left onto Doyle Avenue and make the first left onto Elmgrove Avenue. Brown Stadium is on the left.

From the South: Take 95 North into Rhode Island. Once in Providence, take the Branch Avenue exit (Exit 24). Turn right onto Branch Avenue and proceed to the traffic light. Cross the intersection and go up Cypress Street to the light at Hope Street. Go straight through the intersection at Cypress and Hope to the end of Cypress, where it meets Morris Avenue. Turn right onto Morris Avenue. At the stop sign, take a left onto Doyle Avenue and make the first left onto Elmgrove Avenue. Brown Stadium is on the left.

Cross the intersection and go up Cypress Street to the light at Hope Street. Go straight through the intersection at Cypress and Hope to the end of Cypress, where it meets Morris Avenue. Turn right onto Morris Avenue. At the stop sign, take a left onto Doyle Avenue and make the first left onto Elmgrove Avenue. Brown Stadium is on the left.

FOOTBALL TAILGATING

Tailgating in Lot A is only allowed 2.5 hours prior to the start of an event, during halftime, and for one hour after the completion of any game (No post game tailgating will be permitted following any night football game). All parking lots are walked by Brown Police & Security and Brown Athletic Event Staff to ensure fans are finished tailgating at the scheduled time.

  • Passenger cars only. No RVs will be permitted
  • No generators allowed
  • No electricity will be provided by Brown University
  • In order to be in complance with Rhode Island state laws, all patrons must be at least 21 years of age in order to consume alcohol
  • Vehicles and/or fans carrying beer kegs and/or excessive quantities of alcohol (wine, spirits and/or beer) will not be allowed into parking lots



GENERAL TAILGATING

Tailgating is only allowed prior to the start of an event, during halftime or intermission, and for one hour after the completion of any game. All parking lots are walked by Brown Police & Security and Brown Athletic Event Staff to ensure fans are finished tailgating at the scheduled time.
