Princeton University Men's Basketball Team Tabbed As Ivy League Favorites

Princeton, NJ -- For the first time since the 2012-13 season, the Princeton University men’s basketball team is the favorite to win the Ivy League championship, according to ivyleaguesports.com.

A panel of media representatives that cover the conference made the Tigers the favorite to capture the Ivy League title, with 130 points and 12 first-place votes.

Harvard was a close second with 123 points and five first-place votes.

Princeton has been picked to win the conference 10 times previously. If Princeton wins the conference, it will be the first time in seven seasons.

The Tigers bring back three all-conference performers from last year’s team that went 22-7 overall, and 12-2 in the conference.

Henry Caruso led Princeton with 15.2 points and 6.2 rebounds. Spencer Weisz had 5.2 points and 3.9 assists, and Steven Cook averaged 11.7 points. Hans Brase scored in double figures in 2014-15, but missed last season with an injury.

Princeton opens the season on Monday night, Nov. 14, 10 p.m. at Brigham Young. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 2 as part of the ESPN Tip Off Marathon. Ivy League play begins Jan. 7 at home against Penn.
