Princeton Winery Wins Award At State Competition
Terhune Orchards won an award during the recent NJ Winery Competition.
PRINCETON, NJ — Princeton-based Terhune Orchards has been recognized statewide. The winery won the Governor’s Cup for Best Fruit Wine for its Harvest Blueberry in the recent NJ Wine Competition presented each year by the Garden State Wine Growers Association (GSWGA). It received the award during a ceremony at the Statehouse in Trenton on June 15.
The competition is organized annually by Dr. Gary Pavlis of the Rutgers Agricultural Extension in Atlantic County. The full list of winners from this year’s competition are as follows:
- Plagido’s Winery, Hammonton as Winery of the Year for the second consecutive year
- Fox Hollow Vineyards, Holmdel – Governor’s Cup for Best Grape Wine, 2014 Cabernet Franc
- Terhune Orchards, Princeton – Governor’s Cup for Best Fruit Wine, Harvest Blueberry
- Sharrott Winery, Blue Anchor – Governor’s Cup for Best Dessert Wine, Wicked Port
- DiMatteo Vineyards, Hammonton – Best American Wine, Pasquale Red
- Fox Hollow Vineyards, Holmdel – Best Vinifera Wine, 2014 Cabernet Franc
- Heritage Vineyards, Mullica Hill – Best Sparkling wine, 2014 Brut
- Sharrott Winery, Blue Anchor – Best Hybrid Wine, Wicked Port
