Princeton Woman To Be Featured On FBN's 'Strange Inheritance'

Sandy Perkins inherited a chateau full of historic items that date back to the reign of French King Louis XVI.

PRINCETON, NJ — A Princeton woman who inherited a French Chateau that was moved to New Jersey will be featured on Fox Business Network’s “Strange Inheritance” Monday night. Retired school teacher Sandy Perkins will be the focus of the half hour episode titled “Gilded Age Money Pit” that airs on Monday night, March 12, 9:30 p.m.

The episode is part of a series hosted by Fox Business Network’s Jamie Colby that chronicles the stories of inheritances from people and places all across the country. In the episode, Sandy Perkins inherits a Princeton property that housed mantelpieces, chandeliers, sconces, gates and fixtures – some dating back to the reign of French King Louis XVI. The items were collected by William Henry Vanderbilt.

She inherited the property, which had been purchased by her parents, along with her brother and sister. The property had fallen into such disrepair that her brother and sister wanted to sell it, but her husband, Tim, convinced her to buy it outright from them using their retirement money and fix it up.
