Original projection artwork, created by Raymond DeVoe, will transport the audience to Cinderella’s cottage, the ornate ballroom, and the garden where Cinderella’s loving Fairy Godmother helps the despairing girl discover her inner beauty.
Following the death of Cinderella’s mother, her father brings home a vain and haughty bride and her two pompous daughters, who bully Cinderella to do their bidding. When the stepmother and stepsisters are invited to the Prince’s ball, the downtrodden Cinderella must stay behind. But her Fairy Godmother and enchanted forest fairies turn Cinderella’s ragged dress into a beautiful gown, mice into horses and a pumpkin into a golden carriage. The Fairy Godmother reminds Cinderella that the magic of her physical transformation expires at midnight.

At the ball, the Prince immediately falls in love with Cinderella and together they dance a breathtaking pas de deux, until suddenly, the hour strikes midnight. In Cinderella’s haste to return home, she leaves one bejeweled slipper behind. Cinderella’s dreams are shattered until the Fairy Godmother reappears, reminding her that inner beauty is the greatest strength and the goodness of her heart will prevail.
The cast of Cinderella will feature the talented young dancers of Princeton Youth Ballet.
“I am always amazed at the professionalism and true artistry these young dancers bring to our productions,” Kaplowitz said. “There will be moments when the audience will laugh out loud and at other times, they will feel a tug at their hearts. PYB dancers know how to tell a story through dance.”
A limited number of VIP tickets is available for Sunday’s production, including admission to a special Cinderella Tea Party. The party includes treats, a gift, and a visit from the cast, including Cinderella.
There will also be special discounts for Girl Scouts and a “Dancer” badge workshop specifically for Brownies. All Scouts will get a Goody Bag with a custom Princeton Youth Ballet fun patch.
