Princeton Youth Can Now Apply for Summer Employment Program

The Department of Human Services is now accepting applications.

Princeton, NJ - Princeton is now accepting applications for this year’s Summer Youth Employment Program, the Department of Human Services announced.

For 17 years, Princeton Human Services has provided summer employment to Princeton youth between the ages of 14 and 18 years old through the program.

Over that time, it has provided numerous working opportunities to youth in Princeton.

Last year, it provided jobs to close to 40 students in municipal departments and local non-profit organizations, and gave 46 percent of participants their first job experience, according to the department.

Participants must be live in Princeton or attend Princeton High School, must be between the ages of 14 -18 as of July 5, 2016, and their family income must not exceed 300 percent of the 2015 US federal poverty level.

Participants work 25 hours a week and earn minimum wage for eight weeks during the summer.

Applications are available at the Princeton High School Guidance Counselor’s Office and at the Princeton Human Services Office in Monument Hall.

Application forms can also be downloaded online at www.princetonn.gov/humanservices.html.

The application deadline is Friday, May 6, 2016.
