Proposed Policy Would Regulate Electronics Communication Between Teachers and Students in Princeton Public Schools

The goal of the policy is to prevent personal relationships from developing between teachers and students.

Princeton, NJ -- Teachers and support staff in the Princeton Public School District may soon have a new set of rules to abide by when it comes to communicating with students using electronic devices, the Princeton Packet reports.

The Board of Education will vote on Sept. 6 on a policy to prevent teachers and staff from giving students their email addresses, using cell phones to talk or text and communicating via social media sites, according to the report.

Improper electronic communications will be forbidden, and personal relationships between staff and students won’t be allowed.
