Reputed Mobster Found Shot to Death in Mercer County: Prosecutor
Michael DiMattia was found dead in his home Thursday morning.

Police are investigating a shooting death in Mercer County, Acting Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said Thursday afternoon.
Hamilton Township Police discovered the body of 53-year-old Michael DiMattia inside his apartment on Estates Boulevard just after 7 a.m. Thursday morning, after receiving a 9-1-1 call.
DiMattia died of apparent gunshot wounds. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.

DiMattia is a convicted killer and reputed mobster, The Trentonian reports. He had been in and out of federal custody since 2013 for violating conditions of his release. He was convicted on drug abuse charges.
He was also convicted in the shooting death of James Howard in Trenton in 1990, according to nj.com. He was sentenced to 10 years, but served less than three, and was convicted on numerous weapons in 1998 and 2009.
