Road Work on Valley Road Begins Monday in Princeton

How long will work last?

Princeton, NJ -- ICUNJ will begin the replacement of the sanitary sewer main and services within the public right-of-way between Ewing Street and Witherspoon Street on Monday, May 9, Princeton Police said on Friday.

Valley Road will be closed from Ewing Street to Witherspoon Street between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.

ICUNJ has entered into a contract with the municipality for construction of roadway, sidewalk, curb, sanitary sewer, drainage, signage and striping improvements on Valley Road between North Harrison Street and Witherspoon Street.

This first phase of the work is expected to be completed within 4 to 6 weeks’ time. The entire project, including top soil and seeding, is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Residents are advised to use caution when driving within the road closure area and allow additional time for travel. There may be times when access to driveways is blocked, but 24 hours notice will be given.

During construction, Valley Road through traffic will be detoured onto Terhune Road.

Provisions will be made for emergency services vehicles and for continued services such as brush collection, mail delivery, garbage and recycling pick-up. The road will be reopened to full two-way trafficand parking at the end of each work day.
