Rockley Foundation Pianos For Sale By Princeton High School

The Rockley Family Foundation​ is a non-profit group dedicated to bringing music education to schools and students in need.

PRINCETON, NJ — A selection of instruments provided to the Princeton Public School District through through a partnership with the Rockley Family Foundation is now available to the public. The school district is selling the instruments, which are provided to other institutions and otherwise made available by the foundation, in order to perpetuate the program and partnership, the district said on Thursday.

The Rockley Family Foundation is a non-profit group dedicated to bringing music education to schools and students in need, according to the organization's website. It also raises money for music scholarships, donates musical instruments to the underprivileged and donations to the music educational community.

“In a time where creative solutions are needed to maintain a properly equipped music program, the continuation of this loan program is vital to us in our efforts to further education in the arts,” school officials said in a release. “We invite you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.”

The sale will include grand pianos, baby grand pianos, digital player grand pianos, vertical (upright) pianos, digital pianos, and orchestral string instruments, most of which have been in use for less than a year, have been tuned and come with a factory warranty, according to the district.

The instruments are made by Pramberger, Seiler, Yamaha, Baldwin, Roland, Stravari Fine Violins, and other instrument manufacturers, with a discrete selection of used Steinway & Sons pianos.

The public sale of the instruments will take place on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Princeton High School Performing Arts Center, located at the corner of Franklin Avenue and Walnut Lane.

However, before that the district will host a private sale, on Thursday, Nov. 9; Friday, Nov. 10; and the morning of Saturday, Nov. 11. Those who make an appointment to participate in this sale will be able to buy the instruments with priority in selection and price reductions.
