Police say they're searching for those who were likely involved in the shooting of three people in a car. Two died.

Police say they're searching for those who were likely involved in the shooting of three people in a car this week in New Jersey. Two died.

The two people who died were shot and killed in gunfire in Trenton's Chambersburg neighborhood Monday afternoon, according to police. A third person was wounded but survived.

The Trentonian identified one of the victims as 25-year-old Jerard Perdomo Santana of Pennsylvania.

Two of the men were taken from the Ashmore Avenue scene by ambulance to separate hospitals in Trenton after an officer found them in a car, according to nj.com. The third walked into one of the hospitals while police were there.

One man died at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, and one at St. Francis Medical Center, nearby, where the second arrived on his own after the 2:20 p.m. shooting in the 300 block of Ashmore, near the intersection with Washington Street, according the report.

A 50-year-old woman who only gave her first name as Vivian told The Trentonian she found herself caught up in the crossfire on the way home from Food Bazaar Supermarket.

“I was one of them that almost got shot. The guys were just pulling up from around the corner, I think, and the next you know, ‘pow,’” Vivian, mimicking the sound of gunfire, told the publication. “I thought it was a firecracker, but when I saw he threw [something] out the window, I looked on the ground and saw a gun. I’m over here touching myself, searching to find any bullet [holes] on me.”
