Second Sunday Poetry Reading In Princeton Oct. 9

Their readings will be followed by an open mic and up to 10 audience members can read their original poetry.

PRINCETON, NJ - The Second Sunday Poetry Reading series, hosted by Princeton Makes and Ragged Sky Press, will feature Harvey Steinberg and Emily Saunders Nguyen. The reading will take place on Oct. 9 at 4 p.m at the Princeton Makes store at the Princeton Shopping Center.

Steinberg has been the National Vice-President of an AFL-CIO industrial union; Deputy Director of an urban revitalization program and Executive Director of its Economic Development arm; an Assembly District Leader in New York City; and an environmental advocate in New Jersey. He was also co-founder of an arts organization in New Jersey. A resident of Lawrenceville, he has taught writing and literature and holds a B.A. from CUNY, and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.

Nguyen’s poems appear in her book, Dream’s Hold (2018) and in Archae, GSU Review, ARS Interpres and other journals. She won a Pushcart nomination, holds MAs in Japanese and Comparative Literature, and taught at Vanier College, Montreal. She worked at the East Asian Library, Princeton University, translates from Classical Japanese, and has been a longtime member of US1 Poets Cooperative and the Long Poems Gathering.
