A heterologous (or “mix and match”) booster dose is also approved, allowing individuals to receive the booster of their choice, regardless of which vaccine they received for their initial course. St. Francis can administer the Moderna booster to individuals who previously received the Pfizer vaccine (after 6 months) or Johnson & Johnson vaccine (after 2 months).
The additional dose of the Moderna vaccine for immune-compromised individuals can be administered 4 weeks after the second dose.
