St. Paul School Earns First Place at Scholastic Olympics
The eighth graders at the school took home first place honors for the second consecutive year.

Eighth graders at the St. Paul School of Princeton took home first place at the 34th annual Scholastic Olympics at Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton.
The competition consists of 14 students from grammar schools from throughout the Diocese of Trenton.
Two students from each school compete in one of seven subject areas: Art, English, Math, Religion, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling.

Competitors take a one hour test, and the top three students in each subject area are awarded gold, silver or bronze medals for their achievements.
The school with the most highly ranked participants is then awarded first place in the competition.

It was the second year in a row the school captured first place.
Four St. Paul School students took home medals:
- *Nolan Brody (1st place, Science);
- Molly Hart (1st place, English);
- Victoria Kovarik (1st place, Spelling); and
- Kate Faranetta (2nd place, Art).
“We are so proud of our students for their second consecutive win of First Place honors in the Trenton Catholic Academy Scholastic Olympics,” St. Paul School Principal Ryan Killeen said. “The competition is the culmination of a tremendous effort on the part of our faculty and students and really is the result of years of work. The foundation begins in Kindergarten so our whole community celebrates this award and recognizes the priority we place on academics.”
The St. Paul School team, steered by eighth grade teachers Ms. Sarah Beyer and Ms. Meghan Dwyer, practiced for several weeks leading up to the competition.
Faculty members Arianna Tamasi, Sally Chrisman, Bob Goldman, Mary Dolan, and Ann Schwimmer were also involved in helping the students to prepare.
