Students at Children’s House of the Windsors in West Windsor Soar into Earth Day with Ladybug Release

Students spread their environmental wings and released 3,000 ladybugs into the environment to improve the health of local vegetation

On April 21, students at Montessori Corner Children’s House of the Windsors in West Windsor explored a bug’s life in celebration of Earth Day as they released 3,000 ladybugs throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers and trees.

Students dressed for the occasion in the likeness of ladybugs, wearing red and black colors and antennae. During the event, students also displayed artwork they created after studying different artists and their styles.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees and shrubs. Children’s House of the Windsors teaches the importance of community and exploring nature at a young age.
