Successful Backpack Drive Expanded To Princeton High School And Middle School Students
Princeton Human Services thanked residents and businesses for their participation.

PRINCETON, NJ — This year’s Book Bag and School Supplies Drive was so successful, it was expanded to include high school and middle school students, according to Princeton Human Services. In all, 170 students received backpacks.
Each year, the department distributes backpacks to over 100 children in kindergarten through sixth. The items are distributed to children from low-income families who attend Princeton public schools. The department released the following statement on Wednesday:
“Princeton Human Services would like to thank Princeton municipal employees, local police officers and the many Princeton residents who made individual donations, with a special thanks to Tenacre Foundation, Princeton University, W.B. Mason, Witherspoon Presbyterian Church, the Rotary Club, Princeton Committed and Faithful, the Princeton Police Department, the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and Stone Hill Church for their generous contributions and ongoing support to the Backpack and School Supplies Drive.
“This is truly a community effort and it’s great to see our community come together to ensure our children have adequate supplies as they start a new school year. Human Services has been coordinating this drive for nearly a decade and it wouldn't be possible without the support of all of our donors and volunteers that help during supplies distribution including our Summer Youth Employment Program staff, Leah Williamson, Luis Estrada and Marolidia Pisabaj.
“We look forward to continuing the Book Bag and School Supplies Drive next year and providing this service again to Princeton families.”
