Sustainable Princeton’s eCommuter Fest Returns for 2022

[Princeton, NJ]: For the first time, Sustainable Princeton’s annual eCommuter Fest is taking place on Saturday, September 7 from 11 am to 3 pm in the interior courtyard of the Princeton Shopping Center. The event emphasizes walking, biking, public transit, and family fun.

“eCommuter Fest was an evolution of our Electric EVening event, where we offered EV test drives and EV owner showcases when electric vehicles were novel. Now that the adoption of electric vehicles is well underway, we want to celebrate and inspire our community about the benefits of walking, biking, and using public transportation to get around,” said Christine Symington, Executive Director of Sustainable Princeton. “Attendees will still have a chance to check out some EV models and learn about EV incentives and how to install a home charger.”
This year, the festival will take place in the interior courtyard of the Shopping Center. Participants can look forward to music from DJ Darius, performances from the Trenton Circus Squad, a sustainable fashion show on wheels, a bike safety session, educational tables, prizes, and more. The back parking lot will feature a safe eBike test area from local bike shops and tours of the all-electric Princeton University TigerTransit busses, which are free and open to the public to use all year round.
“Transportation-related emissions are one of the largest contributors to Princeton’s overall
carbon footprint. The more people choose walking, biking, or public transportation, the faster we achieve our town’s Climate Action Plan goals. Building enthusiasm around and providing information about low-carbon ways to get where you need to go is an important part of the equation. We aim to do that at eCommuter Fest,” emphasized Christine.
eCommuter Fest will take place on Saturday, September 7th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Princeton Shopping Center courtyard. Walking and biking are highly encouraged, and ample bike parking will be available. The rain date is September 14.
