Teen Killed, Woman Injured In Mercer Co. Double Shooting, Crash
Shimon Nesmith Jr., 19, of Trenton was pronounced dead and a 21-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the face, authorities said.
MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Authorities have released more details and the name of the man killed in Tuesday afternoon’s shooting in Mercer County.
Shimon Nesmith Jr., 19, of Trenton was pronounced dead and a 21-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the face, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.
Just after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, Trenton police received a Shot Spotter activation for 11 rounds fired in 1100 block of New Willow Street, Onofri said.

On arrival, officers found a vehicle that had crashed into the side of 931 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, the Life in the Word Outreach Ministry. The vehicle was heavily damaged and had numerous bullet holes, Onofri said.
Nesmith was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A 21-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. She remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition, Onofri said.
The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating the shooting. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
