Teen Shot And Killed Inside Mercer County Home: Authorities

A 16-year-old Trenton boy was killed after being shot in the face on Thursday night, authorities said.

MERCER COUNTY, NJ — A teenager was shot and killed inside a home in Trenton on Thursday night, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said

Just after 9 p.m., Trenton police responded to a home in the 100 block of Liberty Street on the report of a teenager shot. On arrival, officers found a 16-year-old boy suffering a gunshot wound to the face, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a spokesperson from the prosecutor's office, other teenagers were present in the house and a gun was recovered at the scene.

No arrests have been made. Trenton Police and the Mercer County Homicide Task Force are investigating.

The incident comes less than a week after 9-year-old Sequoya Bacon-Jones was shot and killed while playing in the Kingsbury Square courtyard. Authorities charged 19-year-old, Isiah Roberts, with murder and other offenses. Read More: 19-Year-Old Charged In Killing Of 9-Year-Old Mercer County Girl

Roberts opened fire during an altercation with a group of people over a Facebook post commenting on his sister's parenting style.
