Theodore G. Hammond, Jr., 75

Hammond was a longtime teacher at John Witherspoon Middle School.

Theodore G. "Ted" Hammond, Jr. died on Saturday, Nov. 5 at home after a long illness.

Born in New Brunswick, Ted lived in Princeton Borough before moving to Kingston 35 years ago. He retired in 1997, after 37 years of teaching at John Witherspoon Middle School in Princeton.

Ted is survived by a son Allen R. Sassman and his partner Walter Mazurak of Lambertville, a sister and brother-in-law, Judith and Frank Kane and two nieces all residing in FL.

Services were held on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kimble Funeral Home. A private cremation follwed with burial in Princeton Cemetery at a future date. Visiting hours at the funeral home were Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m.
