PRINCETON, NJ — A video stream released Tuesday will feature Princeton High School Class of 2020 as they graduate at 5:30 p.m.

This is the first time in Princeton High School's history a virtual ceremony will be held.

There will be 353 students graduating as part of the hour-long ceremony that includes uploaded videos and photographs of students in their caps and gowns, as well musical presentations and speeches.

Princeton High School is also planning a celebration of seniors the first week in July. The date and type of celebration is still being determined.

School officials surveyed the seniors and also met on an open zoom call last week to listen to them contribute their thoughts.

"An overwhelming majority indicated they favored a graduation-themed celebration over a re-creation of the ceremony. They also felt it was important to do our best to keep their class together in one unit if allowed, even if that meant they could not bring guests," said Princeton High School Principal Jessica Baxter.

A final survey will be sent to seniors on Wednesday morning where they can give their feedback on whether they want a formal ceremony or informal gathering in July as well as their preferred time of day and date.

Looking forward, July summer school will be remote. There is no information available for August summer school yet.
