Jules Thin Crust - Princeton (4 ½ star average; 18 Witherspoon Street; 609-759-0082). Some sample reviews:

“This place gets a 5 star as it even impressed my Mom, who is EXTREMELY picky about her pizza! Jules makes very thin crust pizza (imagine a thin flatbread) with various topping options and you can even make your own. The great thing is that you can buy individual slices or order a pie (takes about 10 minutes to make a custom pie). They have TONS of healthy vegetarian options as well and are creative with the use of veggies. We ordered a few individual slices and one large custom pie and all were pretty delicious! I would highly recommend a tomato cheese pizza with their fresh steamed spinach and fresh jalapenos (these were fresh & SPICY!) as a custom option. Prices are a little steep (especially if you decide to get a lot of individual slices) but everything is very fresh and service was super friendly and quick. I also love how instead of plates, they used wooden pizza trays (very cute &&& environmentally friendly!). Also, their slices/pies resemble Sicilian pizzas more as they are rectangular in shape. The location is perfect for downtown Princeton - right on a busy street full of lots of eateries and very close to Princeton University. Also, its a laid back spot and it was pretty easy to find some open tables a little after the lunch time rush. Definitely recommend this place as a great lunch or dinner spot. Can't wait to go back!!”

“The pizza was surprisingly good. They have plenty of options and toppings to choose from, especially for vegetarians. The staff was very helpful in explaining the peculiarities of how prices and slices worked. 4/5, it didn't absolutely blow me away but seemed like an above average pizza place to grab a quick lunch or dinner right downtown. You order at the counter and then they bring your food out to you. Not a full service restaurant to wait on you.”

“Thin crust pizza, quick service, lots of varieties, and decent prices - what more could I ask for. I came with my family on a Sunday evening around 6:30 and found it to be crowd free! There are a variety of veggie and meat thin crust pizzas already made on display along the counter and you simply order by the slice. The 4 of us ordered 6 slices and it was plenty ( granted 2/4 aren't big eaters).
Loved:
- veggie #12 (edamame, ricotta, goat cheese etc)
- meat #3 (chicken, tomatoes, onions etc)
- meat #8 (buffalo chicken)
- veggie #7 (zucchini, corn etc)

Wasn't a huge fan of the Mexican veggie slice ( veggie #9) or the pesto artichoke slice ( veggie #3) but both slices were decent and still finished. Tip for the spice lovers: you can add jalapeños to any slice for free! Just ask.”

Nomad Pizza (4 ½ star average; 301 North Harrison Street; 609-285-5187). Some sample reviews:

“This may be my new favorite spot for pizza! But you have to really like the specialty, brick-oven type pizza or else this place is not for you. I've had dinner here twice now and each time it was incredible. They have a nice variety of menu options and always have some sort of specials as well. The rustic ambiance/decor is really cool, and it helps thats its BYOB! And even when its crowded (which it always seems to be), the pizzas come out relatively quick. If you're a lover of mushrooms, like I am, I highly recommend the Tartufo. I think its hands down my favorite pizza there.”

“Love this place. We used to go to Nomad pizza in Hopewell. Pretty much gave up after a few times, because they are too many people, and line is too long. Now, this one in Princeton is bigger and closer to us. We went there immediately after it opens. The pizzas are just as good as it was in Hopewell, the place is so beautiful especially if you have an outside table. The pizzas are the same as Hopewell, as good as I remembered. All the flavors are wonderful. I love the one with mushrooms, just divine. Love this place.”

“Really liked this place. A little expensive but so worth is. The food tasted so fresh and clean. The appetizers were small but tasted great. We got the mushroom pizza and I loved it. I don't remember the last time I liked a pizza that much. It was thin crush almost but the flavors were great.”

D’Angelo Italian Market (4 star average; 35 Spring Street; 609-921-0404). Some sample reviews:

“D'Angelo 4 stars for food and no stars for the service behind the pizza counter. Luckily, I'm giving them the full 4 stars for this review. This place is legit Italian food. You can't go wrong. Love their pizza and cheese steak. Their groceries are worth checking out too. The service behind the grill area is good. The service in the pizza area is not so good. The employees always look and sound pissed off. It's usually a guy and a girl. Both look miserable to be there and less than happy to serve their customers. Adds a sour tone to an otherwise mostly positive experience.”

“Great food, horrible service. My colleagues and I have given this location a try multiple times including stopping in to pick up food and ordering for delivery in regards to corporate events. Our order never seems to be correct and the order taking is usually a burden to give. All in all, great authentic Italian food but would rate lower due to the service.”

“Thank christ almighty someone in this town knows how to make a pizza. Moved from miami recently where there is almost no good pizza. Couldn't wait to get to Princeton where I figured good pizza would abound. Then I try all the garbage-to-mediocre places on Nassau. Then Conte's, which is an improvement, but still not great. Finally I grab a slice of margarita from D'As. Outstanding. Thin, foldable, but not too floppy crust. FRESH tasty mozz. Sweet but tangy sauce. It's not rocket science people. A near perfect slice.”
