Witherspoon St. Construction, Traffic, Meetings: Princeton This Week

Meetings, construction updates and more - here's what to expect this week in Princeton:

PRINCETON, NJ — Earle Asphalt will continue with demolition and construction of the roadway and sidewalk on the west side and installation of stormwater utilities this week, according to the Princeton Engineering Department.

The work is scheduled to continue through the end of the month. There will be a 4-5 foot walking path nearest the frontage of the businesses for pedestrians. There will be a 4-5 foot walking path nearest the frontage of the businesses for pedestrians.

Stormwater utility installation on Hulfish Street between Witherspoon Street and Palmer Square East will start Monday. This work is anticipated to take approximately 2 weeks.

Sanitary sewer main replacement at the Paul Robeson Place/Wiggins Street and Witherspoon Street intersection has been postponed.

Traffic:

  • Witherspoon Street will remain open to traffic traveling northbound. Parking is not available between Nassau Street and Spring Street during construction.
  • Hulfish Street will be closed to through traffic between Witherspoon Street and Palmer Square East for stormwater utility installation. Local traffic to the Griggs Parking Lot will only be accessible from Hulfish Street.

Meetings:

  • Wednesday: Oct. 5 - Special Council Closed Session; Yom Kippur, schools closed
