Woman Rescued After Falling Into Icy Lake In Mercer Co.: Reports

The woman fell into Rosedale Lake while trying to rescue her dogs, according to reports.

PRINCETON, NJ — Police and firefighters rescued a woman who fell into Rosedale Lake in Hopewell Township on Thursday afternoon. According to reports, the woman fell through the ice and was submerged to her neck.

The Princeton resident fell into the lake after she rescued her dogs from falling in, according to NJ.com.

Officers Peterson and Pauciullo were the first responding officers who used a throw rope to rescue the woman, who was approximately 25 yards from the shoreline, reported CentralJersey.com. The woman was flailing and struggling to keep her head above water.

The woman was treated for hypothermia and taken to Capital Health Medical Center Hopewell, for treatment.
