Wyclef Jean to Discuss the Power of Music at Underprivileged Mercer County School
The Grammy winner will visit Foundation Academy Charter School on Tuesday.

Grammy winning solo artist and former member of the Fugees Wyclef Jean will visit an underprivileged Mercer County school where 85 percent of students receive government lunch subsidies and 100 percent of graduating students are being accepted into 4-year colleges and universities.
Jean will visit Foundation Academy Charter School in Trenton on Tuesday, April 5, to discuss his experiences in the power of music, teach music theory, and play with the student musicians.
The school teaches that music is a part of the process to enrich education and lives.

Throughout the day, Jean will be joined by about 200 students and fellow New Jersey residents who play instruments at varying levels, from music beginners in fourth grade to college-ready high school seniors.
Jean, who is currently working on his seventh studio album Carnival III for release in September, will visit the elementary school in the morning and the high school in the afternoon.

Jean was born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, but moved to New Jersey in 1982. He graduated from Vailsburg High School, Newark, New Jersey, and has lived in Saddle River, South Orange, and North Caldwell.
