2 Ramsey Schools Honored For L.E.A.D. Programs

New program replaces the D.A.R.E. program and teaches kids that they are 'too good for drugs."

RAMSEY, NJ - The police department named two borough schools L.E.A.D. schools of the month in January: John Y. Dater Elementary School and The Academy of St. Paul.

The Law Enforcement Against Drugs program replaces the police department’s D.A.R.E. program. Officers teach fifth-graders throughout Ramsey about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse using the “Too Good for Drugs” curriculum. The program kicked-off earlier this month.

Patrolwoman Diane Warnet runs the program, with the cooperation of district and school officials.
