A Cappella Groups to Headline Ramsey Concert Series

Don Bosco Prep's Chapel Concert series is gearing up for a February concert featuring Marist College singers

Don Bosco Prep’s Chapel Concert series will present its third collegiate a cappella concert on Saturday evening, February 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Mary Help of Christians Chapel, St. John’s Hall.

The concert will feature Marist’s male a cappella group, Time-Check, and their female counterparts The Lovely Sirens, both of whom performed at last year’s event.

Time-Check won Don Bosco Prep’s A Cappella SING OFF Competition in 2011. The groups will perform favorite pop and contemporary a cappella arrangements. The Don Bosco Prep Chorus will also be represented, singing Shut De Do and Goodnight Sweetheart, and joining Time-Check for one piece.

“We have made collegiate a cappella a tradition,” says Toni Bilotti Cecere, Chapel Concerts’ Artistic Director. “Having college-aged singers at Don Bosco Prep provides lots of fun and gives our high school students a collegiate-level singing experience.  It’s a great night for everyone!”

Tickets are $15 and may be purchased in advance by downloading a ticket order form online.  A snow date of Friday, Feb. 15 has been set in the event of inclement weather.

This competition recognizes the talent and commitment of high school artists across the state and awards $1,000 to the winner.
