RAMSEY, NJ — Ramsey residents may want to shut their windows before heading to bed Thursday night.
For residents, the advance notice offers time to prepare and limit exposure while crews work to reduce the local mosquito population.
Bergen County Mosquito Control will conduct an early-morning truck spraying from 3 to 6 a.m. Friday, September 4, according to a borough announcement posted Wednesday.
Crews will apply Duet adulticide in designated parts of Ramsey to kill active adult mosquitoes. The borough advised residents to "keep your windows closed" as a precaution during scheduled spraying.
A map identifying the treatment area is available through Bergen County's mosquito-control website. The borough also provides a fact sheet explaining the product used during the operation.
Wednesday, September 9, is the scheduled rain date. Residents can check the county's spray schedule for status updates before Friday morning's operation.
