Apartment Complex Hearing Postponed to March or April

A hearing on the application for a proposed luxury apartment complex on Island Road in Ramsey has been postponed, again.

Russo Developers submitted a proposal for the complex to the borough last August. It presented its design to the Board of Adjustment in December, and in January canceled its hearing to present a brief description of changes made to the design.

An in-depth explanation of the new design was supposed to begin Wednesday night, but according to developer Ed Russo, that has been, once again, put off.

“It has been deferred to the next available hearing, which, depending on Board of Adjustment scheduling, will be either at the March meetings or sometime in April,” Russo said. “But, we do plan to continue our application.”

The revised plan for the complex calls for three buildings with 196 high-end apartment units on the land currently occupied by Ramsey Lumber, across from the Route 17 Rail Station.
