Bergen Cop Arrested For Cocaine Possession

The off-duty officer was arrested by Elmwood Park police and was also carrying a hypodermic needle.

A New Milford police officer arrested on Friday was in possession of crack cocaine and a hypodermic needle, according to a report by NJ.com.

Officer Daniel DeMarco, 28, was arrested by Elmwood Park Police in the Elmwood Village Apartment Complex at 2:45 p.m., the report stated.

He was picked up because he looked suspicious and he was in an area frequently patrolled for narcotics trade, according to the report.

DeMarco is also being charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, the report stated.

He was off-duty at the time of his arrest, the report stated.

He is due to appear in court on Tuesday.
