Bergen County Man Arrested, Charged After Alleged Sexual Assault of Minor

A Bergen County man was arrested on Sept. 26 after police learned he allegedly engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with a 10-year-old girl.

Favio F. Maldonado, 30, of Hackensack, was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child after his alleged 10-year-old victim told police Maldonado touched her over and under her clothing numerous times, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

Bail was set at $250,000 with no ten percent option, no contact with the victim and the surrender of his visa. Maldonado was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.

He is expected to be arraigned Oct. 1.
