Bergen County Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

The man was found to be in possession of over 100 images and 25 videos of pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

A Bergen County man was arrested Friday on child pornography charges.

Scott Selders, 49, of Ridgewood was arrested after a Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit investigation found he was allegedly using the internet to acquire images and videos depicting child pornography, according to Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli.

As a result of the investigation, Selder’s computer and additional items were seized. Molinelli said there were over 100 images, as well as over 25 videos of pre-pubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

Authorities also seized a small amount of marijuana and related drug paraphernalia.

Selders was charged with one count of endangering the welfare of a child for being in possession of child pornography, one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, namely marijuana in a quantity under 50 grams and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $20,000 with no ten percent cash alternative and restrictive internet usage.

Selders was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
