Bergen County Man Arrested for Inappropriate Sexual Activity with 14-Year-Old Girl

A Bergen County man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly engaging in inappropriate sexual activity with a minor.

Joey. C. Lopez, 51, of Fort Lee was arrested after a relative of his alleged 14-year-old victim contacted Fort Lee police to report ”what had occurred,” Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said. The victim had also met with Fort Lee and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit detectives and described the inappropriate sexual activity in greater detail.

Lopez was charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of aggravated criminal sexual contact and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Bail was set at $350,000 with no ten percent option and no contact with the victim as a condition of bail. Lopez was remanded to the Bergen County Jail in lieu of bail.
