Bergen County Man Attempted To Lure Girl Via Text Message: Police
Philip Carry, a Fair Lawn resident, allegedly sent the 15-year-old sexually explicit text messages, state police said.

A Fair Lawn man was arrested Monday for allegedly sending a 15-year-old Fair Lawn girl “sexually explicit” text messages, state police announced.
Philip Carry, 59, was charged after he attempted to meet the girl after sending her the text messages, authorities said.
The Belleville Police Department received a report that Carry allegedly sent sexually explicit text messages to the girl. Police asked the New Jersey State Police Digital Technologies Investigations Unit for help investigating the claim, authorities said.

A state police detectives posed as the girl and continued communicating with Curry through text messages; detectives allege that Carry continued to send explicit messages despite knowing the girl’s age, police said, and attempted to meet her so he could have a sexual encounter with her.
Several pieces of “digital evidence” were found when authorities from several law enforcement agencies, including the State Police Trafficking Unit, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Belleville and Fair Lawn police departments searched Carry’s Fair Lawn home Friday, police said.

Carry was arrested and charged with luring a child and obscenity to a minor. He was transported to the Bergen County Jail in default of $100,000 bail with no 10 percent option, state police said.
The state Division of Criminal Justice will prosecute the case.
